Dwarka According to the legends Lord Krinshna established this beautiful city and made it his capital after leaving Mathura. In the 7th century Shankracharya established four monastries in the four cardinal directions. The monastry in the west was established at Dawarka enhancing it's importance as pilgrimage destination. Dwarka is also associated with the Great Bhakti Saint Mira Bai who spent her last days here and wrote her immortal poems of love for Lord Krishna. How to reach: It can be easily reached from Mumbai by train.
Vaishno Devi It is a strenuous climb of 13 kms from Katra. At some places like Hathi- Matha the climb becomes very steep. But the love and devotion for the Goddess makes it easier to climb. The exuberance and piety can be seen in all irrespective of age, gender or even religion (Sikhs, Buddhists also visit). It is the devotion that inspires one to undertake this climb and the glories of the Goddess sung recharge the energy of the devouts. The path from Katra to Temple Shrine has been paved and facilities like drinking water, snack bars, medical aid, food and accommodation are provided. Since pilgrims come here from all over the world, a variety of cuisine is available. The Shrine Board runs bhojanalayas at Katra, Adhkawari, Sanji Chhat and Durbar for the pilgrims.
