Rail: Headquarter of the Southern Railway, Chennai is linked to all important places of the country. The two main railway station-Chennai Central for broad gauge and Egmore for meter gauge-cater to a large network connecting Chennai with all other parts of the country. Distance of the two railway stations from he city centre are 5 km and 4 km respectively.

Road: Tamil Nadu has one of the best bus services in the country. All transport corporations operating services in the state, operate at least one service to Chennai. The main interstate service is the one run by State Express Transport Corporation.

Parthasarathy Temple:Dedicated to Parthasarathy or Lord Vishnu, this temple, situated in the Triplicane area, is believed to have been built in the eighth century by a Pallava King. Subsequently, in the 16^th century, the Vijaynagar rulers renovated the temple.

Anna Samadhi: The resting place of the late Chief Minister C. N. Annadurai. The mausoleum area is known as Anna Square.

Ice House: A memento to the BritishEast India Company days. This old building near the Aquarium was once used to store ice brought all the way from New England by Yankee seafarers for the benefit of the sun-baked businessmen in those pre-air conditioned.

High Court and Light House : Situated between the fort and the Harbour are the cluster of High Court buildings, constructed in the year 1892 in the Indo-Saracenic style.It is well-known landmark in the city because of the light House that towers over these buildings. From the light House one can have a panoramic view of the Harbour and Georgetown, the thriving business centre of Madras city.

Gandhi Mandapam: It is a circular enclosure built in memory of Mahatma Gandhi adjacent to the Deer Park. Regular prayer meeting are held here.Her are also memorials to Rajaji and Kamaraj close by.
