With over a million people visiting every year, this tiny State has its share of modern five star hotels and hi-tech water sports. Yet, Goa's charm is still untouched by the fast pace of modern life. Once you arrive, your watches seem to slow down, and time virtually stops.

Tourism Places : Goa was part of the union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu until 1987, when it became the 25th State of the Indian union. Geographically divided into North and South, North Goa has Panaji - the small and charming State capital on the banks of the Mandovi river. The Portuguese heritage still survives in the oldest part of the town with narrow cobbled streets, Latin villas, overhanging balconies and white washed churches. The Church of Immaculate Conception is Panaji's main place of worship for the Catholics

Aguada Fort : Built by the Portuguese in 1609-1612, to command the entry into the river Mandovi, in order to protect Old Goa from potential enemy attacks. A spring within the fort provided water supply to the ships that called there. The fort houses presently the Central jail.

Dudhsagar Water falls : 10 kms from Colem Railway station, the falls are accessible by train only. Water plummets hundreds of feet in large volume, in cascades, forming one of the most spectacular of all natural phenomena in Goa.

Kesarval spring : The spring emerges from hard and compact rocks and people bathe in its water with strong belief that it has medicinal properties.

Mayem Lake : Surrounded amidst rolling green hills is an ideal picnic spot at Mayem. The lake has good accommodation facilities on its shores in cottages. Boating is available at the lake and is a favourite with tourists.
