Rama Raja Temple, a palace-turned-temple is the only temple of its kind where
Ram is worshipped as king. According to legend, Lord Ram came in the dreams
of ruler Madhukar Shah, following which he brought a statue of the god, from
Ayodhya to his capital. Prior to installing the idol in a temple, the idol was
kept in the palace. Subsequently, the idol refused to move and the king recalled
the god's edict, that the idol would remain in the place, where it was first
placed.
Chaturbhuj Temple
The original destination of the image that went on to remain in the Ram
Raja Temple, the Chaturbhuj Temple has lotus emblems and other religious
symbols that dress the exterior of the temple, while the sanctum remains
starkly plain, emphasizing its sanctity.
Laxminarayan Temple
Fusing fort and temple architecture, the temple has Orchha wall paintings
dealing with spiritual and secular themes.
Phool Bagh
Phool Bagh is a beautifully landscaped garden testifying the fine aesthetics
of the Bundelas.
