Jaisalmer Fort Rajasthan

This captivating sandy outpost in the western extremities of the Thar desert has
been dubbed as the Golden City since honey coloured stones were used to make the
walls of the fort of Jaisalmer. This desert fort resembles a gigantic sandcastle.
Centuries ago, the camel route between India and Central Asia to the city brought
it great wealth. The fort itself is an array of Jain temples and is the old palace
of the former rulers.
Saheliyon
Ki Bari
Also known as the Garden of Honour, in the north of the city is a small ornamental
garden, with fountains, marble elephants and delightful lotus pool.
Access: By air Aurangabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Jodhpur, Jaipur.
By rail Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Chittaur, Jodhpur & Ahmedabad. By road it
is 320kms from Jaipur and 578kms from Delhi.
Fateh Sagar Lake
This lake overlooks a number of hills and was built by Maharana
Jai Singh in 1678 and destroyed due to heavy rains, was rebuilt by Maharana
Fateh Singh. In the middle of the lake is Nehru Park, with a boat shaped café.
