George Fort Fort St. George - Chennai
Fort St. George was built in 1640 A.D., the first monumental symbol of British power in India. The fort now houses the Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. The Fort Museum has a wonderful collection of memorabilia from both the British and the French East India Companies, as well as the later British Raj and Muslim administrations.
