The "City of Gardens"- Bangalore is
amongst the fastest growing cities in Asia and a major stronghold
of Indian software industries. It is home to leading IT giants like
the Infosys and Wipro. Well known for its many beautiful gardens,
parks and boulevards, along with the existence of a cosmopolitan
ambience, the city makes for an interesting tourist destination.
Bangalore’s another important feature is its salubrious and
equable climate that envelops the city throughout the year.
Bangalore’s origin goes back to the year
1537, when a Magadi Chieftian, Kempe Gowda built a mud fort as the
nucleus of his new city. As time passes the city grew into a bustling
commercial area and many great buildings were erected on its soil.
Bangalore got further refurbished with the advent of the British.
Today this capital city of the Karnataka State is a melting pot
of different religion, culture, architecture and trendy lifestyles.
There are many important tourist sites to see
in Bangalore. Amongst the must see historical sites, the Vidhan
Soudha is a great attraction. This neo-Dravidian architectural splendor
is the largest secretariat in India and houses the state legislative
assembly. The Bangalore Fort and Palace are other major architectural
delights of the city. However, a visit to Bangalore is not completed
without a trip to the city’s famed parks and gardens. The
Cubbon Park and Lal Bagh are the most sought after tourist spots
with a riot of flora.
